Exceptional Elders of Every Expression

This page is dedicated to equine elders everywhere, working or retired.  To add your special senior to our gallery, please send a clear photo in .jpg or .gif format to TREES' webmaster.  Please include the horse's name, age, breed and any special talents or traits.  If the horse is not yet retired, we'd love to see him at work!  (20 years or older ONLY, please!)

Gypsy Rosalee la Paramour, shown here at age 36 at the Equine Rescue League in Leesburg, VA.  Dame Gypsy left this life and left a hole in our hearts in March, 1999 at age 39.  It is to the memory of her quiet strength, and to the unique spirit of an awe-inspiring Appaloosa mare named Mystic, that we dedicate Traveller's Rest Equine Elders Sanctuary.

Nick

belongs to Katherine Moseley of Skagway, Alaska.  At 25, Nick, a Thoroughbred cross gelding, still outruns the younger horses with whom he shares his pasture!

Age 21-22

Red

"This is me and Red at about 26ish years young in a local 4th of July parade. Red died the evening before Halloween 2002. He was such a gentle soul, and I only hope that he is in good hands and that one day I will see him again."
